Run over to How Sweet the Sound and wish Beverly a Happy Birthday!
Barbara
THANKS TO MS CHARLOTTE AND GINGER FOR HOSTING THIS BLESSED DAY!
What an awesome and orderly GOD!!
God's accuracy may be observed in the hatching of eggs.
For example:
-the eggs of the potato bug hatch in 7 days;
-those of the canary in 14 days;
-those of the barnyard hen in 21 days;
-The eggs of ducks and geese hatch in 28 days;
-those of the mallard in 35 days;
-The eggs of the parrot and the ostrich hatch in 42 days.
(Notice, they are all divisible by seven, the number of days in a week!)
The lives of each of you may be ordered by the Lord in a beautiful way for His glory, if you will only entrust Him with your life. If you try to regulate your own life, it will only be a mess and a failure. Only the One Who made the brain and the heart can successfully guide them to a profitable end.
God's wisdom is seen in the making of an elephant.. The four legs of this great beast all bend forward in the same direction. No other quadruped is so made. God planned that this animal would have a huge body, too large to live on two legs. For this reason He gave it four fulcrums so that it can rise from the ground easily.
The horse rises from the ground on its two front legs first. A cow rises from the ground with its two hind legs first. How wise the Lord is in all His works of creation!
God's wisdom is revealed in His arrangement of sections and segments, as well as in the number of grains.
-Each watermelon has an even number of strips on the rind.
-Each orange has an even number of segments.
-Each ear of corn has an even number of rows.
-Each stalk of wheat has an even number of grains.
-Every bunch of bananas has on its lowest row an even number of bananas, and each row decreases by one, so that one row has an even number and the next row an odd number.
-
The waves of the sea roll in on shore twenty-six to the minute in all kinds of weather.
All grains are found in even numbers on the stalks, and the Lord specified thirty fold, sixty fold, and a hundredfold - all even numbers.
God has caused the flowers to blossom at certain specified times during the day, so that Linnaeus, the great botanist, once said that if he had a conservatory containing the right kind of soil, moisture and temperature, he could tell the time of day or night by the flowers that were open and those that were closed!
Thus the Lord in His wonderful grace can arrange the life that is entrusted to His care in such a way that it will carry out His purposes and plans, and will be fragrant with His presence.
Only the God-planned safe life is successful. Only the life given over to the care of the Lord is fulfilled.
I HOPE YOU FIND THIS AS FASCINATING AS I DID.....WOW!!!!
May God Bless You In Ways You Never Even Dreamed Today
HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY

A Penny
You always hear the usual stories of pennies on the sidewalk being good luck, gifts from angels, etc. This is the first time I've ever heard this twist on the story. Gives you something to think about.
Several years ago, a friend of mine and her husband were invited to spend the weekend at the home of her husband's employer.My friend, Arlene, was nervous about the weekend. The boss was very wealthy, with a fine home on the waterway, and cars costing more than her house.
The first day and evening went well, and Arlene was delighted to have this rare glimpse into how the very wealthy live. Her husband's employer was quite generous as a host, and took them to the finest restaurants. Arlene knew she would never have the opportunity to indulge in this kind of extravagance again, so was enjoying herself immensely.
As the three of them were about to enter an exclusive restaurant one evening, the boss was walking slightly ahead of Arlene and her husband.
He stopped suddenly, looking down on the pavement for a long, silent moment.
Arlene wondered if she was supposed to pass him. There was nothing on the ground except a single darkened penny that someone had dropped, and a few cigarette butts. Still silent, the man reached down and picked up the penny.
He held it up and smiled, then put it in his pocket as if he had found a great treasure.How absurd! What need did this man have for a single penny? Why would he even take the time to stop and pick it up?
Throughout dinner, the entire scene nagged at her Finally, she could stand it no longer. She casually mentioned that her daughter once had a coin collection, and asked if the penny he had found had been of some value.
A smile crept across the man's face as he reached into his pocket for the penny and held it out for her to see. She had seen many pennies before! What was the point of this?
"Look at it," he said. "Read what it says."She read the words, " United States of America ..."
"No, not that. Read further."
"One cent?""No, keep reading."
"In God we Trust?""Yes!"
"And?. . .."
"And if I trust in God, the name of God is holy, even on a coin. Whenever I find a coin, I see that inscription. It is written on every single United States coin, but we never seem to notice it! God drops a message right in front of me telling me to trust Him. Who am I to pass it by? When I see a coin, I pray. I stop to see if my trust IS in God at that moment. I pick the coin up as a response to God; that I do trust in Him. For a short time, at least, I cherish it as if it were gold. I think it is God's way of starting a conversation with me. Lucky for me, God is patient and pennies are plentiful!"
When I was out shopping today, I found a penny on the sidewalk. I stopped and picked it up, and realized that I had been worrying and fretting in my mind about things I cannot change. I read the words, "In God We Trust," and had to laugh. "Yes, God, I get the message!"
It seems that I have been finding an inordinate number of pennies in the last few months, but then, pennies are plentiful! And, God is patient.
Have a great Thursday!

Thanks to Susan, the sponsor of this day to see beautiful pictures of God’s creations. Be sure to visit her and get the list of bloggers.
Wow, Sunday afternoon a little storm blew thru Jewett and the Bar H and left us with a mess in the yard, but 1/2 inch of rain…we wanted to go outside and play in it.
It left my whole yard ,patio, driveway covered with leaves and branches. and knocked this cup off and broke it.
But the rain was good for the plants…..
It has been a stressful summer so far, with so little rain for plants, but especially for grass in the pasture.
I know you get tired of Mr. Turkey pictures, but it is so amazing that a wild turkey would so easily become friendly.
They are now roosting here at night, him in a tree and her on the roof of the barn.
Truly amazing.
Happy Outdoor Wednesday

My many thanks to Sally, who sponsors this day, she has allowed me to take lots of liberty with Blue Monday. Thanks Sally. So hop on over to Smiling Sally and see all the other blogger showing blue thingies today.
I am no longer a blue, blue lady..
I was tempted to stop blogging or change my name so more people would come and they wouldn’t think I was just an old farm lady.
Well, I had the other life, 2 fashionable Boutiques, The Clothes Horse (It’s better to married to a clothes horse than an old nag), dressing up everyday, traveling to market in Dallas, New York, California, living what was considered the good life. But you know what, I wasn’t happy. One day I realized that life was too short to live just half way. So I moved to the beach house, got a divorce and starting look for a happier life. Don’t misunderstand, there were lots of good days and my ex is not a bad fellow, it was me. The best thing that came out of that marriage was my wonderful daughter, Tara.
Then one day along came this guy that liked everything I had never even thought about. Living in the country, raising goats, fishing, enjoying the outdoors and simply trying to take time to smell the roses. I fell in love with him.
We got married, have a beautiful home, 6 dogs, 5 cats, 10 ducks and about 50 goats .
I love my life and I am completely happy. I have friends and time to see them, I play bridge and bunko, take trips with Sharon and vacations with Roy. I have just about everything a lady could want.
Then I thought about why I blog…it was to meet people from all over and share my thoughts and ups and downs. Be a friend and support someone when they had a need and get the same in return. I have made some of the greatest friends and several of them said, the reason they started coming here was because of my blog name. So bloggers here I am, and I won’t try to fool you by changing my name or the things I write about. The old saying, If you have one good friend, you are blessed, well I have more than one and I am truly blessed.
The Purple Goat Lady is back and I will have a new look in a few days.
To my followers I thank you for helping me make my decision, you are the greatest.
Mr.Turkey is still here with Ms. Hen, I have a couple of sick goats and Roy is home from fishing. Life is good. The Lord has blessed me.
I am now a happy Blue Lady.
Purple Hugs,
Barbara
TODAY IS NATIONAL ICE CREAM DAY! NOW THIS IS MY KIND OF DAY!
When you get the urge for a snack on a hot, humid summer night, what's the first thing that comes to your mind? That's right....Ice Cream! Therefore, it's only fitting that ice cream be given it's own special day. On this day, I hope you enjoy an ice cream cone, a sundae, or a milk shake. Set the diet aside and splurge a little...have one of each!
In 1984, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed July as National Ice Cream Month. He also established National Ice Cream Day as the third Sunday in the month.
Ice cream is nutritious. A little heavy on the sugar and calories, ice cream is otherwise good for you. Its base ingredient is milk, which is loaded with healthy vitamins and minerals.
WOW, I could eat my weight in ice cream and that is no small task, in fact that is my problem right now.
If you can resist this, you are a better” man” than me!
Ice Cream Sandwiches
Customize your own irresistible ice cream sandwiches. Bake or buy a batch of your favorite cookies, fill with ice cream, and coat the sides with sprinkles, chocolate chunks, candied ginger, or nuts. Freeze on a tray until firm, then wrap tightly in waxed paper and stack in an airtight container.
Hey wouldn’t the little ones love the sandwiches……Oh to heck with the little ones, I will take a couple. Get out of my way kid, I was here first……..HAPPY NATIONAL ICE CREAM DAY!
HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY. SAY A SPECIAL PRAY FOR ALL THOSE IN NEED TODAY WHETHER IT BE PHYSICAL OR MENTAL, SO MANY NEED OUR PRAYERS, GOD HEARS YOU!
PURPLE HUGS,
BARBARA
I need to sit back and take a look at what I am doing here…..Thinking hard.
See you soon!
Purple Hugs,
Barbara
Today is my daughter, Tara’s Birthday and I just wanted to say Happy Birthday to her.
She was here for the 4th of July and I took this picture of her and Fifi in the kayak.
In her 20’s, Tara was taking an amino acid, tryptophan, that cardiologist gave their patients who could not sleep. It is a natural substance found in beans, turkey and milk. The only company that made it was in Japan and they made what is called a “hot batch”, which was contaminated. It caused many people to develop a disease called eosinophilia myalgia syndrome.
Simply stated this disease attaches to the lining of the body’s muscles and nerves.
It was terrible disease because doctors were grabbing in the dark for ways to stop or slow it down. There is still no cure today. For Tara, it moved around her body and for about 3 years, we spent a lot of time in Houston at the Medical Center, then her doctor moved to New Orleans and she still goes there today. It affected her eyes, throat, heart, her arms and legs and back, we joked at the time that we had visited every floor in the building seeing different kinds of doctors. There were not many places she wasn’t having problems. They tried everything from Chemo to Cleaning the Blood and nothing really worked except pain killers which she takes everyday. Tara lost a friend to this disease and many older people died also.
She has made peace with this disease and with the help of medicine, massage and the Good Lord, she lives a fairly normal life, raising cows, goats, horses and donkeys.
She is a extremely smart and giving and caring daughter and I love her very much.
Fifi says:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TARA! YOU ARE THE LIGHT AND LOVE OF MY WORLD.
LOVE, MOTHER AND ROY
