HAPPENINGS AT THE BAR H

 

1. There is a lot going on…..first and foremost, my craft house 36x24 is finally up and going.  I will post pictures Monday…..we are in Galveston now acting as docents for the Historical Home Tour….much fun.

Well, back to the Bar H,  we have bought two new dogs to learn from Mary how to guard the goats.  Both are Anatolian Shepherds, one is registered, but they are very different in appearance.  Soli the cream one is now three months old and Ally (Alafair) is now 8 months old.

We have also purchased a trailer and our young Hispanic helper and he will be moving on our property very soon….great help for me when Roy is gone every other 2 weeks.

Next addition to our growing family is a horse….her name is Anna Maria and she is a Pinto and will soon be on her way to live with the trainer for about 90+days, to return home ready to ride.  I am anxious to get her back and she hasn’t left yet

We have been working in the pasture, we lost a lot of trees due to drought and they have to be cut down, cut up, stacked and burned.

So between feeding dogs, cats, horse and luckily, Roy does most of the cooking, trying to keep the house clean, I haven’t been too busy.!!!!! but what the heck, it keeps you young and out of trouble.

Problems……

We have our home and lake house for sale and are planning to move closer to College Station…Problem?

Most subdivisions have deed restrictions and of course that includes the number of pets you can have, with 5 dogs and numerous cats, we are not welcome in their fancy neighborhoods, so we have moved out to surrounding area. 

We want to be within 25 miles of College Station, but are not interested in a large plot of land, not more than 2 acres.  We have found several areas and hope to find a house already built, but will build our own if necessary.

We lost our” most favorite house ever”outside of Caldwell, but can’t see anyway we can physically maintain 3 places, so we are hoping to sell out house first and soon….then we can move forward.

I was really hoping to sell the home before the tax went into effect on Jan 1. 2013, but this seems to be wrong time of year to sell in the country….but maybe!

W have a great agent, Chandler, he has been great following us around or taking us to look for property or homes.  I would love to pay him his commission for selling our places.

Why am I writing this post….because I am frustrated and they say it helps if you write it down.

I made a couple of pumpkins, took them to Sharon’s and we decorated them, I came home and started making and decorating more pumpkins!!!!!   Velvet, taffeta, burlap, wool plaid, chenille……

Try it, you will have loads of fun, not only are they easy, but pretty…..

Burlap Wreaths…….

I decided to use burlap and lace in my Den and on the Mantel so I would not have to change it for Thanksgiving.  Sorting thru years of stuff and packing up to move is more work than I anticipated. 
The inside of the house is looking great and I have quite a few empty drawers, but the boxes continue to multiply in the garage and you can hardly walk in the frou frou house.
I am praying the house sells quickly….not worried right now about lake house, it is probably the wrong time of year for it.

I made a Texas University and an LSU wreath for my daughter and niece, but forgot to take pictures before I mailed them…..these are work in progress pictures.

This one I am making for myself…….

I have 2 burlap ones but it is too dark right now to take pictures, so I will post them later.

Well, I am Behind Again on POSTING!

I can't seem to keep up with everything...we worked 4 days at the lake house to get it ready to sell.....it is now up for sale.....included in the price is a Pontoon Boat, jet ski dock, zero turning radius lawn mower, freezer, frig, washer & dryer, couch, kitchen table and chairs, one gas grill and one wood burning grill, dishes, wall hangings, tables, lamps, out door table and chairs, chairs and tables on the the boat dock, sprinkler system and storage house and a beautiful outdoor kitchen.

Interested, go to Brazosland Classic Realty and look for House on Lake Limestone.  it is truly a treasure, but we are leaving the area and can't keep it.

We are headed to Crystal Beach to spend the weekend with my brother and sister-in-law.

Waiting for Roy to see the Home!

I have been looking for a house for about 6 months in hopes of moving closer to College Station or another larger city.

After trying to find an old home, I was not interested in a fixer-upper, I finally gave up and found this gorgeous home with 18 acres just 23 miles from College Station. 

Roy has only seen the house on the virtual tour and has listened to my comments for hours. I will pick him up at the airport this afternoon and we will meet the realtors at 10:00 am tomorrow.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that he loves it like I do.
