Another Baby Goat….Her name is Sunshine

Yes, I am sure you are saying what is wrong with this lady…..three baby goats to raise.

Sunshine’s mother had 2, Sunshine and a little boy, and for some unknown reason she would not let Sunshine eat.  She is only four days old, but she is a good size goat and right now she is still grieving for her mother (who by the way will be sold as soon as she weans the little boy).  We have never had so many problems with out nannies……we are mystified.

So if you  read my post one day when I posted this ……

Well, I am now there!

I will post new pictures soon.  Today is a trip to College Station to get some materials for our outdoor kitchen at the lake. See you soon.

I got close to a goat in a petting zoo one time, and it tried to take a bite of me! I've stayed away since then.

I've read in a book that it's not unusual for a nanny to reject her doe if she has a buck too. A fellow goat breeder is also having trouble with his nannies and we're from central illinois. That is how we got our bottle triplets. Mom rejected them. He said he was going to do the same thing, get rid of her.
There must be something in the atmosphere. The way the stars are lined up or something.
Good luck with the extra mouth to feed. (lol)

How sad when their Moms abandon them, but how sweet you are to take over. Can't wait to see a photo of Miss Sunshine.

Yum, your sweet sounds so yummy. I love shrimp, but have never tried them prepared like that.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Hugs!
Kat
