Blue Monday/ Blue Rose

download[2]

Thanking Sally for taking the time out of her busy schedule to host this fun page, please visit her at SmilingSally.blogspot.com for more blue thingies.

In 2004, after thirteen years of joint research, an Australian company and a Japanese company created a true blue rose and named it Suntory.  Blue roses prior to this date were white roses that were dyed.blue-rose blue rose 200px-Bluerose

Happy Blue Monday to each of you !

I love the blue rose. When I was a teenager my Mom had a green Rose, beside our little store house. It was the softest pale green I'd ever seen, and it was a beautiful shaped rose... I've looked and looked for one since I built my house and have never seen another one quite like it. She said she got a cutting from and old Lady that grow green house Roses.

How beautiful! And we can order one of these rosebushes now? Soon we will be having a special spot in our yard for a rose garden and this would be a great addition.

I have never seen a blue rose before! How unusual.

If you want to come stay with me and learn mosaics you can - and bring along your managerie! But I have been doing this for about 9 years now, so you might have to stay a little longer than a month for me to teach you all I know.
:-))
Hugs,
Penny

Barbara! That is amazing! I wonder when we will see these hit the market??? I've never seen one before. My sister loved blue, and her wallpaper when we were little was a blue rose. Neat that they did this!

Happy Blue Monday...

Hi Barbara,

Thanks for visiting The Bunny Bungalow today. I love it when I find out about a fellow Texan!

And your theme, "Blue Monday", brings back good memories about a Fats Domino song of that same title. Thank you.
