Last Thursday, Sharon, Karen and I took off for Malakoff to check out the shops there.
Our first stop was at Curious Goods, this is Sharon visiting with owner, Donna.
Old Hair Dryer and purple chair they had for sale.
Front of the store.
Right down the Street is Junk Palace, a darling shop, I bought 2 cloches in different sizes for $9.00.
Across the Street is Thrifty Sisters and Sharon got 12 etched glasses for 50 cents each and 2 cups for 50 cents each. I got 4 cups for 50 cents each.
Of course they have a purple flower on them.
I had purchased 8 cups on another trip we took, so I now have 12 to serve soup for my bunko or bridge group. (or fruit).
We left there and headed to Lindy Mall….I loaded up there. Roy loves Waterford Crystal and I found this ships decanter.
A pair of Swarovski Candle sticks.
Love House by Blue Sky.
Wooden floats that are used on fishing nets.
Roy will use these at the lake.
Blue frame I will use at the lake.
Cane River Cuisine from Natchitoches, Louisiana printed in 1974.
I love old and Cajun cookbooks.
Next we went to Antiques on Royall and then to a Mexican Restaurant for refreshments and lunch.
We then headed to Athens for a look-see at Winnie & Tulula’s and The Reblooming of Sweet Pea’s. There are lots of things there to oooh and aweee over.
We then found a brochure on a Winery just outside Athens, so off we went.
It is Tara Vineyard & Winery , wow.
There is the most beautiful big old 2 story house built by the Murchison's, it is called The Inn at Tara and they have 3 bedrooms and you can also rent the entire house.
We tasted some wine and met the owner , Patrick Pierce.
On Saturday night, they have a Bar-B-Que Buffet, live music and then you can stay in the Inn. What a nice weekend.
We stopped in Palestine at the Star of Texas and visited 2 of the antique malls.
Headed home about 5 or 5:30, tired but laughing about the day, saying what we liked and disliked.
I probably left out something…a few extra pictures.
I know the last 4 were taken at Winnie & Tulula’s.
We had a great day and will be looking for some place to go.
Purple Hugs,
Barbara

Oh Barbara! What a fun time I would say that you girls had. It is always so fun to go to antique stores and thrift stores and look for treasures. Debbie and I always have the best time when I go home in the fall. I can hardly wait. Have a wonderful day. Country Hugs, Sherry
Wow you sure get around. I was tire just reading it. Great finds.
I am so glad you are giving the Atta Girl award to someone.
Just do a post on giving her the award with the picture and a link back to my page so others know where it came from and can use it too.
Then I will add her to the list. You may want to say why you are giving it to her.
Barbara... you got some great buys! Gonna have to plan a fall trip up your way!
All of the things you found are just wonderful, and the pictures of all the shops are great. So much to see and choose from. Sounds like a fantastic day. Hugs, Marty
